Sri S. Abdul Nazeer is the 24th Governor of Andhra Pradesh. He is a former judge of the Supreme Court of India and a former judge of the Karnataka High Court. He was appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 12th February 2023.

- Sri Abdul Nazeer is the son of Sri Fakir Saheb and grew up in Beluvai/Moodbidri in coastal Karnataka.
- He obtained a B.Com degree from Mahaveera College, Moodbidri, and later a law degree from SDM Law College, Mangalore.
- Sri Abdul Nazeer enrolled as an Advocate in 1983 and practiced at the Karnataka High Court in Bangalore.
- In May 2003, he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court and later became a permanent judge of the same High Court.
- In February 2017, he was elevated to the Supreme Court of India, becoming only the third judge ever to be promoted to the Supreme Court without first becoming the chief justice of a high court.
- Nazeer was the lone Muslim judge in a multi-faith bench that heard the controversial Triple Talaq case in 2017. He upheld the validity of Triple Talaq based on Muslim Sharia Law, but the practice was eventually barred by the bench by a 3:2 majority.
- He was part of the 5-judge bench that delivered the historic 2019 Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya dispute, which ruled in favor of the construction of a Ram Mandir.
